SLM is an exploration company that has a portfolio of 10 exclusive exploration licenses for uranium and associated minerals in the Tim Mersoi sedimentary basin in Northwestern Niger with the total area of 4924.6 km².
Tim Mersoi basin hosts some of the world’s most economical sandstone uranium deposits with favorable geology, including Imouraren - the world’s second largest deposit. The region has been historically underexplored and has vast potential for new discoveries.
SLM employed a number of cutting-edge exploration technologies developed in the former USSR, along with traditional methods to identify perspective areas with potential to host significant deposits. A number of points with surface mineralization as well as underground anomalies have been identified. The work conducted to date indicates that certain SLM properties are likely to contain deposits comparable in size to known deposits in Arlit area, currently being mined by Areva.
